Wagging Your Tail Through the Hills

Your vacation with your dog in Limburg starts here

Play, romp, and enjoy the good life

The area around Gulpen is part of the South Limburg Hill Country—a true hiking paradise for you and your dog! Lace up your hiking boots for a beautiful hike through the Geul Valley, where your dog (on a leash) can sniff around along babbling streams and through rolling meadows. For a challenging climb, walk straight to the top of the Gulperberg, where you’ll be treated to a breathtaking view of the region. Want to let your dog off the leash for a bit? In the nearby Vijlenerbos, you’ll find an official dog-off-leash area where your four-legged friend can romp among the trees. After an active hike through the hills, settle down together on a dog-friendly terrace, where you can enjoy a Gulpener beer or a slice of Limburg vlaai while the water bowl is already waiting.

The most beautiful areas for letting dogs run free in the area:

    Vijlenerbos (9 km)
    Koumenberg (16 km)
    Hondenpark Strijthagenweg (14 km)
